A Moment with the Moderator
Our annual Congregational meeting went very well. Thank you to all the outgoing Church Officers that have completed their terms. It was good to see so many people volunteer for filling the vacated offices. Of those that volunteered, it was especially good to see many people elected that had either not held a position previously or had not filled a position for many years. All of our new officers are getting situated in their positions and at the next Council Meeting we will be getting the first Committee reports.
The Council Meeting for February was fairly short. I took time to ensure that position turnovers had been completed and that new officers became familiar with how the Council Meeting is conducted.
At this point I must put on my Budget Committee Chairperson hat and give you the final report on our 2005 finances I promised at the annual meeting. In this newsletter you should find both the 2005 and the new 2006 budget graphs. The good news is that our income exceeded our expenses in 2005. Our income was $78,280.14 and our expenses were 75,962.89. Our expenses, thanks to our Church Officer's frugalness, were $3,969 under our budget amount. This was all good news but I ask you to remember that we had bingo income of $2,503 and two special gifts which totaled $3,500 which helped meet our expenses. This situation has put us in good position for 2006.
