My name is Mark Nemeth. I'm 46, single, and a firm believer in the saying: "It's never too late to have a happy childhood."
Until early 1997, I was a Network Systems Engineer working for Computer Sciences Corp. at Edwards Air Force Base in Southern California. When our contract with Nasa Dryden Flight Research Center ended in April 1997, I retired, sold my home of 11 years in Tehachapi,CA, and moved into my RV. Over the course of the next 4 1/2 years, I traveled all over the country in my RV, meeting great people and seeing unforgettable sights.
In 2002, my trip finally ended when it was time for me to go back to work. I am currently still living in my RV and am working with the Escapees RV Club at their headquarters in Livingston Texas. It's a great job, and it allows me to stay a part of the RVing community that I love so much. Now, I'm looking forward to the time when I can retire again and hit the road! Until then, I am doing technical writing and research, public relations work, RV Consumer Advocacy stuff, and just about anything else we can think up. Here's a picture of me from a recent trip to the State Capitol, working to get the trailer tax repealed. Pretty scary, huh? Suit and tie and everything!
My home is a 30' Jayco fifth wheel that I bought used in 1994. I spent several years outfitting it for the road, and have set it up for extended dry camping. Here are some pictures of the rig. To drag it around, I have a '78 Ford f-250, also customized for the task with extra fuel tanks, a generator, toolboxes, and an auxiliary water tank. Here's the truck. For sightseeing and general knocking around, I have a Honda CT-110 motorcycle that rides on the back of the fifth wheel.
I love fishing, hiking, and eating. I play the guitar and enjoy photography. I am a devoted P/C user and Internet surfer, and stay current with the advancing technology by keeping up with new developments and maintaining this web page. I maintain several other websites for pay and also administer and moderate the Escapees sponsored discussion forum at www.rvnetwork.com. I like to play "Mr. Fix-it" with computers and do a fair bit of maintenance, repair and administration work on personal computers.
